With years of experience managing not for profit organisations, I have experience of Service Development, Change Management and People Management. I developed and implemented safe working practices and worked on process improvement projects. I have supported small charities to develop their practice and worked with them to become independently sustainable.
I have played a key role in developing projects that are service user led and implemented systems that help organisations evidence their work, track their progress and show their impact.
As chair of Postscript 360 (Formerly BAT) I want to ensure we deliver a service that is right for the people who need it, when they need it and creates a culture of independence upon their recovery from addictive medication.
Sophie’s background is in service delivery. She has worked for the CAB, a housing association and various charities providing support, advice and representation to members of vulnerable groups. These have included domestic abuse survivors, people with learning disabilities and food bank clients. She was a founding trustee of ‘Fair Frome’ which set up a food bank, furniture bank and community dining service in Frome.
Sophie has combined these skills with her own determination to survive a chronic illness. When she was not well enough to work, she studied, eventually earning a MRes in Politics and Sociology from the University of Bristol.
This unconventional life has allowed Sophie to gain a unique perspective as both a professional and a service user. Her diverse experiences mean she can help the charity to develop and expand its program with the needs of clients at the centre of everything PostScript360 does.
Ian has extensive knowledge and experience as a business growth consultant in both the private and public sectors having worked with a number of high profile names such as AXA, Prudential, NHS and a host of Fintech Start-ups. When not working Ian can be found on the golf course, playing the guitar or studying for his WSET Wine diploma.
With an extensive career in management, first in the private sector as a Corporate Claims and Insurance Manager and more recently as Business Support Manager in the voluntary sector, my specific interest are the implementation of processes and procedures to ensure the smooth implementation and management of processes to manage performance and efficiency. In my “day job” as Operations Manager in a Youth Organisation in Bristol, I am passionate to work towards finding improved processes to support our delivery staff.
As a Trustee of Postscript 360 (formerly Battle Against Tranquillisers), I am excited to work with our new CEO, Terri and her team, Rob, our chairman and my fellow trustees to once again put our charity at the forefront of support for those suffering the effects of prescribed drug dependence. On a lighter note, I am a keen gardener and cook, and enjoy a healthy debate.
